My parents have come to visit me from North Carolina this week, so naturally I had to have Cortland’s parents visit him! This will give me a chance to use some family jokes I’ve been sitting on for a while.

The crudely-reproduced painting in the background is Winslow Homer’s, Snap the Whip. My family had a huge, framed print of this painting hanging in our living room all while I was growing up, so it has some memories for me.
